Misschien wel de meest verrassende vaststelling is dat burn-out vaker voorkomt bij jongeren dan bij ouderen. Maar liefst \u00e9\u00e9n op de zes jongeren heeft hier mee te kampen.<br \/>Burn-out wordt omschreven als een toestand waarbij iemand opgebrand is en geen energie of motivatie meer heeft. Een belangrijke indicator hiervoor is vermoeidheid. Je energietank is simpelweg leeg of bijna leeg.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Wanneer je continu over je grens heen blijft gaan, uit zich dit ook in symptomen als hoofdpijn, spierpijn, nekklachten en andere klachten. De vermoeidheid maakt je daarbij ook vatbaarder voor ziektes als griep en verkoudheid. Net zoals iemand met insulineresistentie meer zoetigheden eet, zal iemand met endorfine resistentie meer nood hebben aan \u2018geluk\u2019. Het geluk dat de persoon op deze manier probeert te bereiken moet telkens opnieuw aangevuld worden. Deze dwangmatige nood aan herhaling onderscheidt de verslaving van het niet-afhankelijk zijn.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Voorbeelden hiervan zijn:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">problematisch internetgebruik, gamen en sociale media.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">porno- en seksverslaving.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">workaholisme.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">verslaafd zijn aan verliefdheid.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">verslaafd zijn aan feiten (bv. hoog-functionerende autisten en wetenschappers).<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">verslaafd zijn aan bezit en macht.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">sportverslaving.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">problematische verzamelzucht.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u00a0<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Junkfood en een zittend leven verhogen de kans op endorfine-resistentie, ofwel een verminderde gevoeligheid voor endorfine. Endorfine reguleert de draagkracht van wat iemand aankan. Bij mensen met een endorfine-resistentie neemt de stressgevoeligheid toe. Dit vertaalt zich in een verhoogde gevoeligheid voor stress en prikkels.
